Trends, Insights, & Updates in Enterprise Software | 02.28.2025

In partnership with

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Friday Tech News! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week.

Current trends indicate that the world is adopting GenAI technology, and moving toward proactive cybersecurity. Several vendors I follow are moving beyond reactive security measures towards proactive threat prediction and prevention. This is cool. I like it. But, with some of the providers who have large catalogs of products, I wonder how they’ll spin their marketing to empower the use of these actual technologies they’re coming out with.

Take Dynatrace for instance. Once a strictly great observability tool, is now moving into Cloud Security Posture Management and AI Driven protection and insights. Fascinating stuff that I believe will start to democratize the playing field and offer more choice to end users when evaluating tooling for visibility and action.

The world is being eaten by AI buzzwords and new developments in GenAI and AI. Multiple companies are integrating AI-powered solutions to enhance security, observability, and operational efficiency. It seems that every week, companies are “branding” themselves as “AI driven this” or “Agentic AI that” and it begs the question of managing all of these new AI Agents.

I’m curious what people are going to do and if anyone is adopting these Agentic AI bots in the wild. I know for me, I worked on building a few of them that were game changing for my customers when I was at my last professional gig, but the question still remains, how do you prioritize and listen to / architect dynamic agentic AI bots inside your network? How do you build architecture that diagrams out what an AI Agent is going to do for your business? Time will tell. Or if you want to build that product with me and have tons of cash to burn, give a call 🙂.

It’s been a truly busy week for me and I’m grateful for that. Next week’s tech news might be a bit delayed due to personal and work travel but I still plan on getting it out.

As always, if you’d like to give me feedback, I’d really appreciate it by you responding directly to this email.

Thanks so much for your continued readership and patronage. I appreciate it more than I can express.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and stay physically and digitally safe.

  • Dynatrace is expanding their portfolio rapidly, even coming out with CSPM a few weeks ago. They’re simplifying their interface as well to make it easier for end users to understand the system findings they’re researching.

  • Predictive pricing model against queries for the tool is a plus.

  • New Relic Announced An AI integration with SNOW to enhance their open Agent ecosystem. The integration allows New Relic’s Intelligent Observability Platform to provide mission-critical insights and recommendations within SNOW’s interface.

  • The integration aims to automate enterprise workflows - which shouldn’t even be called workflows now - improving business uptime as a primary goal.

  • new Relic AI can analyze real-time production data such as errors, logs, and security vulns and present insights within ServiceNow.

  • CalypsoAI launched the worlds first Security Leaderboard that ranks all major AI models based on their security performance.

  • The Inference Red-Team product from them stress-tests AI models using advanced techniques including - this is new - Agentic WARFARE and automated attacks so that they can identify vulnerabilities.

  • CalypsoAI’s solution addresses the evolving AI threat landscape

  • Akamai has introduced a new Managed Container Service to help enterprises run data-intensive workloads closer to end-users.

  • The service leverages Akamai’s full-stack cloud computing infrastructure to enable businesses to maintain predictable costs and scale their apps efficiently.

  • It’s designed to deliver high performance, low latency, and scalability for modern apps, providing a consistent end user experience across Akamai’s distributed cloud and edge locations.

  • Available in over 700 cities today.

  • Great announcement and good to see them getting into this partnership.

  • CrowdStrike has introduced its Falcon Identity Protection for MSFT Entra ID to provide real-time protection, detection, and response to identity based attacks in hybrid environments.

  • By combining endpoint and identity security, the platform offers protection against even more sophisticated threats like password spraying and phishing, ensuring to all systems regardless of where they’re deployed.

  • Of course they’re building in AI to continuously monitor and analyze user behavior and heuristics.

  • Trend has launched an AI Agent (of course) called Trend Cybertron which is designed to predict and prevent cyber threats across an attack surface.

  • Cybertron connects real-time and historical data from around the globe to accelerate security outcomes and reduce alert overload to move from detection centric security to proactive prevention.

  • The AI engine in the LLM integrates with Trend Vision One which offers advanced threat intel, machine learning for data classification, and insights from over 3,000 security experts. They’re trying to help people still be in the AI loop to make better informed decisions to manage risk across attack surface.

  • BeyondTrust has launched an AI powered innovation called True Privilege. This tool leverages AI driven graph analysis to reveal hidden attack paths and the actual, effective access an identity holds within complex IT environments.

  • True Privilege (I suck at spelling that word) exposes the indirect paths to privilege that attackers can exploit to gain visibility by the enterprise to reduce risk beyond traditional PAM solutions.

  • The tool integrates advanced AI and ML to analyze vast amounts of identity data from diverse sources including AD, Entra ID, Okta, AWS, and many more.

  • Google has unveiled Gemini Code Assist which is available for free to individuals. The tool is designed to make advanced AI capabilities accessible to students, hobbyists, and startups.

  • Cool feature release that the platform will monetize during renewals I’m sure 🙂.

Phoenix Security | Phoenix Security Root Cause Analysis.

  • I’m biased with this one, but you all know I’ve been hellbent on remediation since 2022. Frank outlines real issues facing practitioners as he’s one himself. This video outlines how we’re taking a "Threat Centric Approach” toward solving for vulnerability management issues to prioritize understanding the source of systemic vulnerabilities. I hope you take a watch. Frank is a missionary on a crusade to rid the worlds' software of vulnerabilities and the associated burnout that comes with modern vulnerability management practices.

Articles I Liked This Week 💡

  • I’m highlighting this article because I believe in the value of what companies like NVIDIA bring to the table versus certain other competitors. Committing to smart, reasonable, safe use of AI is what I believe the enterprise is after…downloading a local model rife with vulns isn’t something I feel you’ll get from NVIDIA NIM, OpenAI, Mistral, Gemini, and other localized tech.

  • This is a big deal if you know anything about SaaS marketplace purchasing and how it relieves enterprises of commitment dollars in large contract vehicles.
