OEM News & Updates 📰

  • Great announcement from Dazz - this will surely expand their reach to more customers to help solve root cause analysis problems in cloud security.

  • Combining Twilio’s platform with OpenAI will allow customers to produce personalized and customer aware experiences.

  • Manage first party software risk with this new announcement from Qualys. Bring your own detection and remediation scripts to Qualys VMDR DID’s and you can scan differently! I see Qualys a lot in the wild so this will surely be a welcomed update.

  • Cool service for the SMB layer - they have a SOAR with human expertise to help businesses understand and remediate breaches and risks.

  • Very cool from SecurityScorecard. They’ll now offer a subscription service that combines security ratings, SOAR technology, and human expertise to detect, prioritize, and remediate issues in vendor ecosystems.

  • Sad news coming out of DELL, but for those in the channel this could be a massive announcement.

  • Super cool stuff from Datadog after DASH last week. Security Inbox is part of the Cloud Security Management product and helps customers discover and fix security risks across cloud apps and infrastructure.

  • I really like what Ermetic is doing. This is a cool project that allows organizations to safely test their cloud security skills, processes, tools, and posture in an interactive sandbox environment that’s easy to deploy and destroy.

  • Test against things like CWPP, CSPM, CIEM, and CNS.

  • New from Vectra AI, hybrid attack defense is a new product that allows security teams to identify behavior of modern attackers where other tools cannot. Read on for more detail here for sure.

  • Mend is doing great things in the SCA space. You can now scan containers and registries at scale as well as provide run time vulnerability prioritization for k8s clusters.

  • Cloudflare Bot Management on IBM Cloud Internet Services (CIS) will be big for discovering and blocking bot threats across the entire attack surface including cloud, network, identity, and endpoints.

  • Tines now integrated with Code42 here for faster resolution of issues in the environment.

  • HashiCorp boundary now integrates with Azure Active Directory. Big news for HashiCorp people out there (which I know most of you are from a config management perspective at least).

  • Ugh - hate to see continued layoffs hitting the tech sector. If you’re affected please reach out and have a conversation.

  • NetSPI is top of the class in pen testing and this integration will allow customers to proactively improve security defenses for mobile apps.

  • Couple your DSPM and CSPM capabilities here against Amazon S3 to reduce risk of data exposure and breaches. They’re calling it “Bucket Configuration Management” or BCM for your new acronym of the week.

  • Another new one for you - ITDR - leverages AI and ML to analyze and identify identity related threats based on key IOC’s.

Articles I Liked This Week 💡

  • Be careful with this one. I liked many of these announcements but some of the players aren’t enterprise focused quite yet. Either way, good

Tech Funding & M&A 💸

  • Laminar is an Israel based cybersecurity platform that provides solutions such as data landscape intelligence and privacy for businesses.

  • Their DSPM solution is one of the hotter ones on the market. Is this the first we’ll see of major plays for DSPM vendors by big OEM’s?

  • Aceyus is a North Carolina (woot!) based cloud contact center platform that offers solutions such as omnichannel reporting and data and analytics services for businesses.

  • ConductorOne is a New York based SaaS platform that provides solutions such as identity governance and access management for businesses.

  • MindsDB is a California based AI development cloud platform that enables development teams to develop, train and deploy machine learning models.

  • Veza is a California based identity security platform that offers solutions such as cloud data authorization, access monitoring, governance, and compliance for businesses.

  • Perimeter 81 is an Israel based cybersecurity platform that offers solutions such as network visibility and data protection for businesses.

  • WG2 is a Norway based API platform that provides cloud driven subscription management solutions for telecom businesses.

  • Horizon3.ai is a California based pen testing platform that allows businesses to scan for their security posture.
