Good morning and welcome to another edition of Friday Tech News! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. If you were in the Southeast and dealt with “snow”, I hope that you stayed safe and sane with the kids and family at home.
This week’s edition brings a number of AI related updates (yes, once again) but some really cool ones at that. Grok3 came out, Snowflake and Databricks are at battle again for partnerships and innovation, and we also saw Microsoft announce a new Quantum Chip. Finally, some cool and interesting activity in the M&A and Funding scene.
I wish you a wonderful weekend, filled with time outdoors and with friends, family and loved ones.
Stay physically and digitally safe!

Snowflake | Snowflake expands AI tools with Anthropic
Snowflake has partnered with Anthropic to embed AI agents directly into corporate data environments. This will allow businesses to analyze both structured and unstructured data while maintaining security controls.
It introduces Claude 3.5 Sonnet model into Snowflake’s Cortex Agents platform.
They’re emphasizing a focus on deploying AI models securely and at scale.
Databricks | Confluent and Databricks Partner for Real Time AI
Strategic partnership here to integrate Confluent’s data streaming platform with DB’s data intelligence platform.
The collaboration features new integrations such as Tableflow with Delta Lake and Unity. These integrations ensure seamless data governance across operational and analytical systems.
The partnership aims to bridge the gap between operational and analytical systems to allow businesses to build sophisticated AI-driven apps.
Securiti | Securiti and Databricks Partner
Securiti has partnered with DB to integrate Mosaic AI and Delta tables into their Gencore AI solution. It enables customers to build enterprise grade GenAI systems using their own data.
The integration allows orgs to pipe and sync unstructured data with Delta tables from various systems. It curates data to support AI model training in Mosaic AI while adhering to privacy requirements.
It aims to provide a comprehensive AI security offering by giving data sanitization, entitlement controls, and provenance tracing.
DB still so hot.
CrowdStrike | CRWD launches Agentic AI
CRWD has introduced Charlotte AI Detection Triage, an Agentic AI driven solution that operates with customer defined bounded autonomy. It triages security detections with over 98% accuracy, eliminating over 40 hours of manual work per week.
It combines AI with Human expertise to enhance security operations and autonomously analyzes, prioritizes, and summarizes detections.
It integrates across the Falcon platform.
Boomi has introduced APIM (API Management) solution as part of its enterprise platform. It combines cloud scale APIM with integration, automation, data management, and AI capabilities to help businesses manage API sprawl.
It focuses on fortifying governance for all APIs and aims to eliminate shadow APIs, boost quality, and enable AI ready workflows with elastic scalability for performance and reliability.
It integrates APIs, apps, data, and AI on a single platform for real time insights and enhancements in efficiency for users.
Wallarm has introduced a pen testing service specifically for Agentic AI systems. It aims to help orgs assess and secure their AI driven systems from emerging threats.
As enterprises increasingly adopt Agentic AI, the pen testing service provides businesses with detailed reports to highlight vulns and offer insights to safeguard these new technologies.
Designed as a proactive measure against threats, not a mitigating one.
OpenText | OpenText Launches NextGen Cybersecurity Cloud with AI powered Threat Detection and Response
OpenText has launched Core Threat Detection and Response, an AI powered solution that processes billions of machine events to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
The platform utilizes hundreds of AI algorithms for advanced anomaly detection and it continuously evolves with each organizations unique environment to improve detection accuracy over time.
It integrates easily with tools like Defender for Endpoint and Entra ID - smart by them.
Atlassian | Atlassian Unveils ten “Superpowers” in Jira
Atlassian has unveiled ten new AI features in Jira Service Management, including AI agents that can pull info from third party sources, display service mappings, and propose automated playbooks. Cool.
The new virtual service agent now supports all languages available in Jira SM and integrates with Slack, Teams, and email services.
I like the Atlassian platform. They’re emphasizing clarity and convenience for the UX with the virtual service agent processing 75% of internal requests with a high satisfaction rate.
Axios | Musk Debuts Grok3
Microsoft | Microsoft unveils Majorana 1 quantum chip
Said it a few weeks ago that we’re now in the Quantum era.
Microsoft’s unveiling of the new Majorana 1 quantum chip is like upgrading from a horse and buggy to an intergalactic spaceship.
This is the world’s first chip utilizing “topological core architecture” which is a new material that has been created (new state of matter).
It can scale to a million qubits on a single chip, marking a significant leap towards quantum computing.
Licensed for $1,000,000 x qubit under E5 😁.
Fortinet | Fortinet delivers unmatched security and efficient network performance with next gen firewalls
The market is super forgiving. Fortinet is trying to push upward into the Enterprise but with the amount of CVE’s they’re pushing, I really don’t know how it’s going to go. Noteworthy ones they’ve had this year are:
2025-24472
2025-24470
2025-24471
Despite this, their stock is still up almost 75% over the last year.
