Good morning and Happy Friday!
I tried to write FTN a little bit early this week, chunking out sections here and there as the alerts came in. This allowed me to make some added commentary against most of the articles and for that, I thank you for listening to my opinion.
I’m going to try and inject more of my opinions in the mix here and there and hope you’re okay with that.

What are you doing about your VMware conundrum? For years we’ve relied on vSphere and it’s other components in the portfolio to adapt to scaling demand on IT, but with Broadcom’s takeover, many businesses are seeing pains associated with support and increased licensing renewal costs.
Becoming a bigger fan the more I see of Databricks. They’re doing some interesting things in the data space and the partnerships they’ve brought to bear are exciting and fresh.
CrowdStrike | CrowdStrike and Cloudflare announce expanded strategic partnership to secure networks and power the AI-native SOC
Both of these companies are doing big things in their respective spaces. I’m a big fan of this partnership and continued sharing of information and intelligence in these communities.
What will they come up with next?
Newer product, I’d be interested in hearing a review if anyone has played with this in the wild.
Nutanix | Nutanix and Red Hat Expand Collaboration
Automation is key for successful DevOps and Security program practices. Furthering this partnership is a big deal in the world of automation and alternatives to VMware.
AVS is a solution that works. But if you ask me, if you’re not considering how to change your architecture and apps to be cloud native, running servers in the cloud is just an expensive colo option.
Big fan of LambdaTest
Forescout | Forescout Deepens Partnership with Tanium to Bring Higher Levels of Automated Security Governance
I see these products often and know that increased partnership will only enhance the offerings in their respective portfolios.
Veeam entering the Cloud Storage market is interesting. Backup and DR are often neglected components of successful cloud strategies and adoptions, and having an intelligent product like a Veeam to also do cloud based storage is a nice alternative for safe keeping of certain assets. I wouldn’t expect enterprises to dump everything to Veeam.
Have you seen Abnormal? Super cool product. Even cooler that they’re now partnering with Code42.
AlgoSec does a great job in the network segmentation an zero trust space. Good announcement from them on adapting to the ever-changing cloud marketplace.
SentinelOne | SentinelOne® and Advantage Partner to Deliver Next-Generation of Managed Detection and Response
Never seen this product in the wild but again, begs the question of planning for failover and DR in the cloud.
I don’t see a lot of Fivetran out there but this looks like a pretty interesting offering.
Identity is king right now. Very cool update from Sailpoint, if you’re a user I’d welcome feedback on how you find this new feature.
Snowflake had a tough week with their hack. This is a good partnership that will bring additional value to those using the snowflake data platform.
Big fan of Immuta, thought it was worth the call out that they’re winning accolades for their product.
Really interesting article, I enjoy the content that Qlik puts out in the data realm.
Cisco Live was this week and their strategy just still perplexes me. Are they a networking company? A security company? No wait, they’re going into AI now. Idk, but this feels like a foray into territory that should be left alone by the likes of Cisco.
Again with Databricks coming up. Expanding partnerships, developing a great ecosystem, and their performance is top tier from what I’ve seen in real life POC’s.
Vanta does some interesting things and this is a cool integration that should help businesses streamline compliance actions and needs.
No real major topic to address here, I found this article interesting and like to explore the ramifications of the tech we’re so eagerly embracing with AI.
Every week I’ve reported on news, AI has been at the forefront since ChatGPT came out. I think it really started picking up in November of 2022. Either way, with the rise of AI workloads and concepts in the workplace, NVIDIA will likely continue their domination of the AI chip space as well as the innovation and thought leadership associated with various AI projects.
Super detailed article showcasing challenges in ETL and how to best navigate them internally. Lot of best practices reviewed as well as discussions on strategic solutions and how to ensure data integrity.
